Dennis B-day Weekend Hike (Tohakum Peak, NV)
Saturday, we attempted to climb to the top of Tohakum Peak outside of Lake Pyramid, NV. We had a late start, meeting for breakfast at Denny’s first. The posse consisted of Mary & Charles, Jay, and Dennis & I. By the time we got to hiking it was around 10am.
We hiked until 2:30 ish, and we did not make the summit, but we probably got close to 8,000 feet. We would have needed another hour at least, but we missed our turn around time, when we went up the wrong ridge (which cliffed out on us). Still, it was a great hike, and the weather was perfect.
When we got back to Reno, we decided to disband, and meet back up for dinner and then board games at Mary & Charles’ place. We had a fantastic meal at an indian restaurant. Dinner was fabulous. We finished off Dennis’ birthday celebration with board games. It was a lot of fun…
On Sunday, I slept in (it had been a late night). I got everything packed up for the trip home, and then Dennis & I did some last minute visiting with his parents before we left. The flight home went smooth, and overall the weekend was great.
