Bacharach to Frankfurt

Our room on the edge of Frankfurt Vending Machine Frankfurts in Frankfurt! Clare in front of Frankfurt Haupbanhoff

Amazingly, all the train connections went fine. From Bacharach to Mainz to Frankfurt, arriving in Frankfurt at lunchtime. The hotel was a little nicer than a Holiday Inn, well appointed room with nice ceiling windows so we could see the stars. The room felt like a mansion compared to the shoebox in Bacharach!

We had some serious cravings for some spicy food, so the hostess made reservations for us at her favorite Indian Restaurant,Indigo. We were very happy and excited to try the Indian food in Germany.

Compared to London, we thought it was a step up. However, it was not as good as the Indian food we had in Kyoto. It was very mild and had a lot of tenderness (veggies were a little overcooked) and the meat was very delicate. Finally, our tummies were happy!

Getting to the restaurant was a bit of an adventure. It’s located smack dab between the business district and the “sexyland” district. Check out the picture. I’m happy that we were finished with dinner while it was still early in the evening. I wouldn’t want to be wandering around there late at night!

I was excited about going to Turkey the next day, and happy that my drippy nose was slowing down. It was great to be able to taste food again. And, thanks to the Indian food, I breathed easily that night.
