While devouring our abundant Scottish breakfast, we perused local hiking guides. We decided to hike the Quiraing, a mystical rock formation outside of Uig. We hiked from 10:30am to 3pm. Then we drove back to Uig through Staffin following the route Dennis did the day prior on his bike.
The Uig-Staffin Loop offers amazing views and some ridiculously steep hills (see above)!
For a late lunch, we went to the Uig Cafe. Dennis had a chicken tikka sandwich, yummy! I had the lentil soup, delicious, and a cranberry brie toastie (couldn’t help myself!).
We met up with the Wee Grumpy Runners at 5:30pm and I joined them for a lovely 6 mile run, from the Quiraing back to Uig.
We ran the first couple miles together and then Andy took off, that guy is a racehorse! Karen, Fiona, and I kept a nice steady pace but we still got a workout. The run was gently down hill-from the Quiraing to just outside of Uig. Then, suddenly, it’s quite steep for about a mile and makes an abrupt descent down to the harbor.
Back at the pub in Uig, it was social hour! Everybody had coffee, except Andy who enjoyed a lagershandy. For those not in the know, this is a lager beer mixed with a lemonny soda (like sprite or something). We hung out until 8pm and then we parted ways.
I hope we can meet again someday, what a FUN group-these Wee Grumpy Runners! Also, I was sad to be leaving Skye, it really is such lovely country.
Below are the best pictures from our hike. Enjoy!

For dinner, we went to Prince of India. The flavor and portions of the food was just about right. The only dissatisfaction we had was the lack of lassi. Also missing was kheer, a delicious rice pudding. We were saddened by the missing menu items, but thankful they were open late!
