On Monday morning, we struck camp at 6:50am. We hiked down to Camp Schurman, where we disposed of our waste and used the loo. We had snacks and got ready for the descent. Around 10am, we left Camp Schurman.

By noon we were back at tree-line after one of the longest glissades I’ve ever had. Sliding down the Inner Glacier was amazing. It took about 10 minutes to go down what took us 2+ hours to ascend!

We made it back to White River TH at 1:30pm.

Back at Casa Martin, we had a huge barbeque celebration. Did I mention we were rock stars?!? When I think back at the experience I pinch myself for being so lucky to be invited by Anne and for being so welcomed by the Martins. They are a truly wonderful family and I hope I can join them again for some adventure in the future. If I’m lucky they’ll ask me to join them on a Mt. Schuksan or Mt. Baker adventure.
