Two days after my 20 hour Longs Peak challenge, I supported Dennis as he “competed” in the Running of the Green, 7k race. I was still fatigued after my adventure with Slava, but I managed to peel myself out of bed and put on some green clothes.
We walked over to the starting line and met up with Julie, Jeff, and a whole bunch of their friends from the run club. I also managed to run into Josh, who was competing with some of his buddies from work.
The race started and I jogged over to REI, so I could catch Dennis at the halfway mark. Luckily, I made it just in time to get a few pictures of Dennis during mid-race.
After capturing the mid-race melee, it was time to jog back to the finish line. Boy, was I tired by the time I got there…Lucky for me, I was able to meet-up with Dennis just after he crossed the line!
Even as a non-competitor, it was still really fun walking around the race area. There were bagpipes being played, Irish step dancers, and a ton of running vendors.
