Around the World – Day 3 – Seattle

At the EMP Museum
With Dennis at the EMP Musuem

The last time we were in Seattle, we visited the Space Needle, but we didn’t have time to see anything else in the area. So, this time, we were excited to check out the EMP (Experience Music Program) Musuem.

The featured exhibit was movie themed, with two components; horror and science fiction. The history of movie evolution in these genres, was fascinating. There were also a plethora of display cases filled with the authentic props and information about the filming. We really enjoyed the scream machine, which captured faces of people as they were screaming, it was fun to see the range in peoples expressions!

After the EMP Musuem, we popped into The 5 Point Cafe for lunch. The food there was really good and the service was entertaining. I would highly recommend eating here. You can sit at the bar and avoid the long wait, if you don’t mind the madness of the bar.

It started to drizzle while we were eating lunch, but thankfully we were armed with umbrellas.

Decked out for the Wedding
We got all gussied up for Jon & Melissa’s wedding, then took a taxi to the event center.

Melissa About to Read her Dear Jon Vow
The wedding vows!

We arrived to the event center really early. People were arriving slowly, there was a bar for mingling and appetizers were served. It was a super fun atmosphere.

Tuna Tartar and Gin N Tonic. Yummy!

When all the guests had arrived, it was time for the ceremony.

Here Comes the Bride!
Everybody took their seats and Melissa emerged from the upstairs looking amazing.

Walking Down the Eisle
She descended from the lofty walkway and met her parents at the start of the isle. We were breathless as she walked down the isle. Pictures were snapping like paparazzi and the excitement in the room was palpable.

We gather here today...
Reading their vows. Her’s began, “Dear Jon.” which gave us all a laugh.

The ceremony was short and sweet. They explained the meaning of their wedding rings and their theme, “More of Everything” which is not a nod to capitalism, but about how in life we need to give more and have more fun, excitement, and time with our loved ones. It was really touching and I loved it.

Family Picture
Dinner is served! All the family sat at a table together and enjoyed the food.

Charley With a Brilliant Performance
Towards the end of dinner, Charley, a very close friend of Jon’s, gave an awesome performance.

Yummy, Yummy, for our Tummies
