Ohayo, It’s Cinco De Mayo!

Say bye bye to Ridgecrest
This year I’m celebrating Cinco De Mayo by getting on a plane and going to Japan.  My hubby and I leave in about 11 hours, and I’m getting very excited.  I’m trying to stay up as long as I can, so I sleep for part of the time on the plane!

I’m all packed, and my bag weighs in at a cool 26 pounds.  Easy to manage, carry on bag, with a piggybacking little day pack attached.  If I wear it in the front instead of the traditional way, I look like a pregnant woman!  It sticks out quite a bit.  So, I’ll probably be knocking Japanese folks around, if I turn around suddenly while walking.

I could shave off a few pounds from the pack…All the extras as follows: a book, an extra pair of sandals (luxury!), a pound of dry roasted almonds (a gift for some lucky Japanese host or our tour guide whomever we like more!), a whole bunch of snacks/goodies for us, and a duffel bag for gifts to be shipped back. Without all that extra stuff I’d be at around 20-which is ideal.

We’re going to be taking a bunch of pictures, and I’m journalling.  So when I get back, I’ll be able to update the blog with my daily entries.  Since I’m not really sure how often or how easy I can get online.  Maybe if I’m lucky, I’ll sneak in a couple posts while we’re over there.  Oh, and I forgot, their keypads may be completely different than the normal asdfghjkl type boards…?

Off to the land of the Rising Sun!

So, Addios Amigos/Amigas! And have a very happy Cinco De Mayo.
