caused us to miss our flight in San Fran. So we waited 8 hours in the airport until the next flight to Japan (1AM on Saturday morning). The upside is that we got a chance to eat some Quesadillas at a little Mexican joint in the airport…to celebrate Cinco De Mayo just before it was over!

If you ever get a chance-fly Asiana Airlines. They were the epitome of service oriented! Here’s me, in front of our flight bound for Seoul, at around 11pm-I’ve been up since 5am!
We just now arrived in Seoul, South Korea and are waiting for our last and final flight to Narita, Tokyo. It leaves at 10am, and it’s 7:40am. I hope they can assign us seats at the gate, 1 hour prior to flight. All the airport people tell us that’s what United does…so I’m hoping they’re correct. If we have to go out and come back in through security, we will miss the flight!
Anyways, the 12 hour flight from San Fran to Seoul went fine. We slept a lot of the time since we had been up for 24 hours by the time we got on the plane. Being on 3 flights in a 36 hour period and 4 different airports is hectic. Anyways, on Asianna airlines, they served a Korean style dinner (Bi-Bim-Bop), which came with directions for how to consume it. One of the best dinners I’ve had on a plane, IMO!!! Very yummy. And, they served pancakes or shrimp fried rice for breakfast. I ate the former cause I’m not into shrimp fried rice at 4am!
I never thought I’d be in Korea, but here I am. Too bad we can’t stay for a few days and get the full experience! But, we’re off to Japan in a couple hours to join up with our tour. We are a whole day late, and I’m hoping we can jump right in and pick up no problem!

Bummer about the delay but sounds like you made the best of it. All part of the “experience” ,right? It’s all good. Who says that? 😉 (LOL)
Indeed, getting to Japan, finally, was the “good” part of it all.
The airport in Seoul, btw, is very nice. Great style and decor, nice passanger/travel lounges, etc.
Flying Asiana airlines was good too. No more of the USA style “we’ll bring you your d*mn meal when we feel like it, now shut up and buckle your seat belt” from the flight attendants.
No, these folks are all about 1st class service. If I ever have a chance to fly with them again, I’ll take it!
