Our Last Day in Japan…

started out with a sunny morning!
View From Tokyo Government Building
We took advantage of the sun and went for a stroll over to the Tokyo Government Building’s Viewing rooms. We took an elevator to the top and walked around the window encassed room to see a panoramic view of Tokyo. It was quite a hazy day, so we could still not see Mt. Fuji!

We went back to the Hilton and grabbed our bags. We took the Narita Express train to the airport. We were at the airport 4 hours early, so that gave us plenty of time to spend some cash at the duty free shops. I had a fun time shopping for gifts and Dennis did too.

We waited in the airport after that for a couple hours for our flight. The flight back was uneventful, but our seats were very uncomfortable. I had problems sleeping.

Arriving in LA was okay. It took us a couple hours to clear customs, and by the time we got to the rental car place, a pretty big line was forming. We made it back to Ridgecrest around 3pm on Saturday afternoon, a very very long Saturday for us!!! Happy to be home, and sad the vacation was over.

Fortunately, the Japan Rail Pass also works on the Narita Express (about 4000 yen, otherwise, I think).

Right next to the Tokyo Hilton is another hotel (can’t remember the name) with a travel agency, where you can reserve seats on the NEX. All seats on the NEX must be reserved, so this was very convenient.

Coming through customs coming back from England seemed quicker and easier than this time around.

And the rain followed us back from Asia! It drizzled the day after we returned! Go figure!
