For the first time since moving to CO, my Mom & sister, Meera, came to visit. I was so excited to be seeing them, and having such a fun weekend! I had a lot planned and didn’t know how it all was going to go…My Mom is very ill, so we have to take things day by day.
We started out the weekend with a trip to the ballgame. How could we be more patriotic? It was a complete surprise, as they had never been to a Major League game.
I explained the rules to my Mom, as she watched it just a few yards in front of her! Very soon, we were all caught up in the drama of the game. A ball once whizzed overhead, missing us by about 10 feet. I was happy nobody got hurt, it was probably going about 80mph…The Rockies were playing well, would it be a shut-out?
Turns out, it was a shut-out. The Rockies won 6 to 0, and the Arizona team sulked off the field. Ha! The crowd was totally excited because it was a fireworks game. Meera & Mom were in for a treat!!! The fireworks shows after the Rockies games are ludicrously loud. It’s borderline insanity. I think my heart skipped a beat, and I was happy Mom doesn’t wear a pacemaker!
Other than the Rockies game, the highlight of the weekend was the day in Boulder.
We hiked at Chautauqua Park, at the base of the Flatirons for about an hour and then we went down to Pearl Street. There’s always a lot going on around Pearl Street, and it’s fun to window shop. I bought Mom & Meera some tops at the Patagonia store, and myself a pair of plaid pants, for a little splurge.
