On August 12, Lauren and I packed our gear and Cookie Belle into her camper van. Destination: El Rito, NM. The drive took about 6 hours, and we stopped in Moffat for some coffee (excellent!) and to buy a couple cute tank tops.
We arrived at 6:15pm, popped the top of the camper, and then set out to explore the crag.
When we got back from the short walk, it started raining. Dinner was next on our minds. So, we hunkered down in the van and enjoyed a crisp salad with chicken & mushroom pasta.
The delightful summer evening storm lingered so Lauren put on some rad tunes and we enjoyed the summer evening in the shelter of the van. The precipitation produced cooler temps and made for ideal sleeping conditions.
Oh so nice to not be in a tent!
