We met at 7am to hike Telescope Peak. I was excited because I just knew I would finally get to bag the peak. Participants were Charles, Mary, Tim (& Doggy), Dennis, and I. The hike is really moderate, and I bet Charles will someday go back and run to the top! It’s about 7 miles total, with approximately 2500 feet of gain. The drive up was fine, very little traffic on the road! Weather was a bit hazy, but it looked like a great day was upon us. (more…)

Last year, when I did Triplett with Walter, I didn’t imagine myself ever heading back to Owens Ridge. The trek to the wall is drudgery, taking nearly an hour (unless you’re a stealthy hiker). By the time I get to the wall, my legs are tired and I’m out of breath and I’m hot and I’m miserable. What can I say, I’m a typical lazy climber. Ideally, I’d drive up to the base of the wall, start the climb from the hood of the car and be on my way! (more…)
Owens River Gorge Trip Report

Hayley swung by to get me at “oh early thirty” in the morning. We drove to get Walter, and I slept in the back while they chit chatted. I had been feeling sick ever since we got back from Japan. This was the first day I wasn’t hacking and couphing. I still had a pretty gnarly headache and also a minor fever, so I took a sick day. I had also been overworking myself in the office recently, so I needed some time to relax mentally. A nice warm sunny day up at ORG was just what climbergirl needed! (more…)
