Lauren and I climbed the classic route, Rewritten, on Friday. It was a toasty day on the rock, but we still had a fabulous time. I led the easy pitches and Lauren battled with the harder ones. We had a very pleasant hike back down to the packs; no problems with routefinding. (Sometimes, in Eldo, the crux is in the descent). Pictures are courtesy of Lauren. Unfortunately, I don’t have higher resolution images…sorry!

Sunday, September 18th, 2011Brenda and I climbed in Eldorado Canyon on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon. She led Flakes to Whistlestop, a super fun 2 pitch route on the sunny south side of the Redgarden Formation. We then moved into the shade and she put up Werk Supp. Boy, does she have that one dialed! I enjoyed both routes immensely. (more…)

Brenda and I climbed at Cadillac Crag in Eldorado Canyon. We climbed V3 (5.8) and Ghetto Cruiser (5.7). She was the ropegun and I was fine with it. I was still pretty exhausted from running the marathon the prior weekend. In fact, the hike up to the crag just about did me in! I was happy the routes were available and it wasn’t too hot. (more…)
Rock Climbing – Eldorado Canyon, West Ridge
Saturday, March 13th, 2010
On Saturday, Jenny & I climbed at the West Ridge in Eldorado Canyon. It was forecasted to be mid 50, so I was psyched to get out. I hadn’t been climbing in Eldo in over a year (due to my back injury last summer). I could barely contain my excitement.
We both managed to fall into the creek on the way to the wall, but it was worth the wetness. We were the first to Washington Irving (5.6)! Right after we got there, scads of people arrived and all had to move on up the ridge because *we* were *first*!

Here’s a picture of Jenny at the top of Washington Irving (5.6). (more…)
Rock Climbing – Eldorado Canyon, CO
Sunday, June 14th, 2009On Sunday, I climbed a paltry 2 pitches in Eldorado Canyon, with Jay (whom I met at a local climbing gym). It was one of those days where I had a lot of expectations, none of which were met. While I was climbing, I enjoyed the experience, but the rest of the day was completely lacking. (more…)
