Owens River Gorge – Trip Report

Sunday, March 18th, 2007

The day after St. Patrick’s Day, Ted & I went up to ORG. We left Ridgecrest around 7:30 am and had an uneventful drive up to Bishop. J-Tree Flowers - A Dangerous Beauty Clare & Rachel Smiling on top of Playhouse Rocks Paul on Beck's Bear (5.6)

Rachel used her park pass and before I knew it, we were at the parking lot for the Lost Horse area. Of course, somebody was already plastered to the crux of White Lightning, so we walked around a little bit until we bumped into the Playground Wall. (more…)

On Tuesday, I picked up Tom R. at 8:15am and we drove down to NJC. Actually, he drove, I slept most the way. We got there and pretty much had the place to ourselves.

We climbed at the White Face Wall by the bathroom. We climbed White Head (5.9 **) and White Out (5.10b**). We both agreed the later was way more fun. We also think it deserves more stars. It is very fun and has great flow. (more…)
