My friend Kat was gracious to invite us up to her family’s condo in Avon, CO for the weekend. SO, we all piled into the Subaru; one man, three ladies, gear, food, and a dog! Dennis was excited to go boarding, and we girls were equally jazzed about the x-country.

Time for the annual Cross Country Ski and Waffle day, organized by Dan M. I was totally psyched to participate in this tradition. It’s a very simple day; wake up early, head up to the mountains, enjoy waffles & breakfast with some colleagues, then ski! What could be more fun!!! (more…)

Cross Country Ski – Snow Mountain Ranch

At 5:50 am on Saturday, I left to meet Dan F. and Mike at the Wooly Mammoth Parking Carpool lot in Morrison. Our destination was YMCA of the Rockies Snow Mountain Ranch. Mike was kind enough to drive his van, so we had plenty of room. I quickly dozed off for an hour of much needed zzzz.

We arrived at the ranch, and had some muffins (courtesy of Mike). Mine was pineapple coconut, yummy! We saw the building open up, as staff started to sweep the porches. I headed down for the rental gear. I was fitted with intermediate Soloman ski’s and boots for classic skiing. (more…)
