I dropped the guys off at Copper Mountain and then went to Frisco Nordic Center. I went to Butterhorn Bakery for breakfast. Then, I traipsed all over the trails at Frisco, enjoying the fresh powder for the next 4 hours. Got a call from Dennis at 2:30pm, then I headed back to pick them up. Cross Country Ski – Frisco Nordic Center

On Saturday, Kelly, Mike, and I ventured up into the mountains to take advantage of the fresh powder. We left the Wooly Mammoth Park N Ride at 6:45am, a little on the late side (my bad!). There was an accident, so we didn’t make it to Frisco until nearly 8:30am.
We stopped at the Butterhorn Bakery for a most excellent breakfast. Yum! Kelly was excited as it would be her first day of nordic skiing.
Later, at the Frisco Nordic Center, we geared up for a wonderful day of cross country. Kelly did fabulous and Mike did a great job of coaching technique. We went ~7 miles before we all decided to call it a day! For more pictures: (more…)
My First Time…
Saturday, January 3rd, 2009Cross Country Skiing was at Frisco Nordic Center!
A bunch of guys from work enjoy x-country regularily, and invited me along. I met them up in Frisco at 7:30am in the morning. The drive up was a little perilous, after the tunnel, it started snowing and the ice was pretty bad on the road. Luckily, I only had to drive for a few miles in the bad conditions, and by the time I got to Frisco, there was a happy coating of snow over everything.
We met at a cafe, The Butterhorn Bakery in downtown Frisco. I had the cinnamon swirl french toast. It was delicious, except I didn’t really want either the bananas or the blueberries they heaped generously over the top. The guys were happy to help me eat those… (more…)
